4pmThis is a great opportunity for an experiencedMetrology Quality Engineer to join specialist manufacturing Client based in the Dudley, you will reporting to the Technical Manager and the Pattern-shop Supervisor.The Metrology Quality Engineer will be:Ensuring manufactured products meet requirements to drawing using tools and guidelinesResponsible to inspect cast ductile iron and steel castings for turbo/manifold and general engineering sectors to maintain the companys high-quality standardsEssential requirements for the Metrology Quality Engineer:Hands on experience using metrology equipment, 3D scanning and 3D software. Advantageous experience including: CMMs, inspection, measuring instruments, vision systems, hardness testers, portable measuring arms, gauging, optical measurement equipment, dimensional equipment, The role requires an attention to detail, thoroughness, and a degree of analytical thinking or problem solving. Ability to read and follow inspection references, work instructions and quality documents relevant to customer and internal requirements. Good written skills to record inspection information. Competent to perform Dimensional Metrology measures sizes and distances over an objects surface. It is used to quantify an objects physical form, size, volume, and relational distances between distinct features. Dimensional metrology is vital in developing standardized measurement units like the metric system.To ensure all castings are inspected according to company procedures and customer requirements Approving or rejecting both raw and machined castings with respect to qualitystandards and record performanceDevelop measurement programmes for all parts. Analysis and ReportingRead engineering drawingsComplete gauge checks. Utilise measuring equipment such as gauges or jigs when required.Desired requirements for the Metrology Quality Engineer:The ideal candidate will possess a trained eye for detail and will be reliable and committed. In depth knowledge and comprehension of quality standards.Experience in machining is an advantage. Well organised and thorough. Methodical and analyticalConfident using a calculator.Excellent communication skills and active time management are essential to deal with customers and achieving project deadlines.Complete a programme for parts to ensure they are measured at each drawing revision.
