Mid Level Java Developer - Banking

Job DescriptionA leading bank are looking for a mid-level Java Developer to join their Front Office Banking team. You will be developing and working on the enhancements of cutting-edge trading systems that drive the markets.You will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of high-performance trading systems. You will work closely with the trading desks, quant teams, and IT operations to deliver robust, and scalable solutions that meet the demanding needs of the financial markets.Key Responsibilities:Develop and maintain complex Java applications for pre and post trade systems.Collaborate with traders, quants, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.Implement multi-threaded systems that process large volumes of real-time data.Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing and deployment.Optimize existing systems to improve efficiency and performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks.Ensure the reliability and scalability of systems through rigorous testing and monitoring.Skills and Experience:3+ years of experience in Java development, with a strong focus on multi-threaded applications.Proven knowledge of concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization in Java.Experience with messaging technologies (e.g., Kafka, JMS) and relational databases (e.g., SQL).Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).Understanding of financial markets, instruments, and trading strategies is highly desirable.Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.On offer:Competitive salary and performance-based bonuses up to £100k base.Opportunity to work on innovative projects that shape the financial markets.Collaborative and inclusive work environment with a focus on continuous learning and development.Access to state-of-the-art technology and tools.Hybrid workingPlease not Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
