Mig Welder/Fabricator

Cogent Staffing are recruiting for an experienced skilled MIG Welder to join our client, an established and growing engineering/manufacturing company based in Morley, LS27. The ideal candidate will have experience with jig work welding.

Shifts & Salary:

• Monday to Friday


• 7am - 4pm Monday to Thursday, 6am - 3pm Friday


• �14 an hour starting


• Salary increasing to �15.50 an hour once permanent

Key responsibilities:

• Perform MIG welding on various metal components and structures, mainly box to plate.


• Please be aware, you may sometimes be required to assist with assembly and fabrication as well as welding.


• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.


• Set up welding equipment and ensure proper settings for each project, mainly working on Jig based work.


• Clean and prepare surfaces for welding by removing rust, debris, and contaminants.


• Weld components together using the appropriate welding techniques and equipment.


• Inspect welds for quality and make any necessary repairs or adjustments.


• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.


• Work as part of a team jig welding.

Key requirements:

• Proven experience as a MIG Welder, evidenced in CV.


• Proficient in stick welding, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly.


• Strong knowledge of welding techniques, equipment, and materials.


• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.


• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.


• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in welding processes.


• Mechanical aptitude and understanding of mechanical principles.


• Attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality welds.
