We are looking to recruit an ambitious and enthusiastic person to work in the Management Information Systems team. The role will focus on working with colleagues to improve the integrity and quality of data in College systems to enable timely and accurate data returns.
The MIS team is essential to the College, ensuring that data and information is robust and accurate, to support decision making at all levels of the organisation. Working in a busy environment with high volumes of data, your role will be to validate student and course data, using a range of systems and software.
The team is highly responsive and we are looking for a candidate who has excellent organisational skills along with an ability to investigate and resolve problems and queries with data issues. You will have good communication skills, and the ability to read and interpret data, together with the confidence to provide advice and guidance on data accuracy.
It will be necessary for you to have outstanding IT skills and proven experience of using Office applications to a high level.
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To monitor the student and course data, and assist in raising and maintaining the quality of this data in College systems. To ensure robust data is available to enable timely and accurate data returns.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Operate a cycle of data cleansing activities to ensure robust and accurate data is available.
* Manage timely and accurate data on the course master file, ensuring data integrity and evidence for audit purposes.
* Investigate and resolve problems and queries with data issues across the College.
* Assist with the operation of the college data integrity software; interpret the results by using Microsoft Access and Excel and provide timely and accurate feedback to the appropriate areas.
* Support the central administration teams to cleanse, correct and rectify data inconsistencies.
* Maintain good working knowledge of college learner record system (ProSolution).
* Provide support and advice at enrolment. * Prepare data for the student-related statutory returns, e.g. ILR, HESA etc.
* Assist in the running of the student-related statutory returns i.e. ILR, HESA etc.
* Assist in operating the data integrity software to validate student and coursedata Information Officer July 2015 NOTE: Please be aware that the duties and responsibilities outlined above are not exhaustive and may be varied from time to time after consultation with the jobholder. * As required, run the ILR return and the data integrity software (according to the internal college schedule) and perform any other tasks as required.
* Maintain regular contact with the central administration teams to ensure timely and accurate collection and input of data.
This post is full time, based at our Watford campus.
