Mobile Electrical Technician - Oxford (Area)
We are seeking a skilled Mobile Electrical Technician to join our team. The primary focus of this role is to provide expert electrical engineering services across various sites in the Southeast�region of the UK.
This position requires a flexible approach - As Mobile Electrical Technician you will, at times, be required to work away from home, with hotels provided.
This role will be working a contracted 45 hour week, with working hours from Monday to Friday, including 10-hour workdays with 1 hour unpaid lunch per day. Working flexibly any five days out of seven (when required), including some regular weekends on a rota basis (rota to be confirmed with successful applicant)
1 in approximately every 6 weeks will be working an out of hours on call rota system, which will be rewarded with an on call allowance plus hourly pay when required to go out to a breakdown. Additional overtime is also available.
Key Responsibilities as Mobile Electrical Technician:
- Participate in the on-call rota to support emergency responses.
- Perform reactive repairs on electrical systems to minimize downtime.
- Conduct servicing and maintenance of electrical services on both mobile trailers and static sites throughout the UK, ensuring 100% completion of TMS work reports.
- Ensure compliance of electrical systems with BS7671 standards and regulations.
- Inspect and test equipment, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs while maintaining accurate records of all work performed.
- Maintain and calibrate test equipment, keeping detailed records of testing activities.
- Assess and communicate the need for additional labour support when necessary.
- Carry out general duties as required, including minor plumbing and HVAC system repairs.
- Uphold high standards of workmanship and professionalism.
Requirements as Mobile Electrical Technician:
- Completed an accredited apprenticeship (City and Guilds) with a minimum of 5 years practical experience.
- Qualified in test and inspection.
- Ability to work efficiently under time constraints.
- Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
Working Hours as Mobile Electrical Technician:
- Contracted 45-hour week (Monday to Friday) with overtime opportunities.
- On-call rotation schedule (approximately 1 in 6 weeks) with additional compensation.
- Travel & overnight stays may be required.
