Mothers helper or part-time nanny needed

Posted 3 months ago

Hi! I’m a retired nanny and au pair, so I think we will be fair and reasonable parents to work with. We also offer a very flexible arrangement as long as you are an excellent communicator :)

We are looking for someone proactive and a great communicator for no more than 35 hours of help (mainly while I’m home) to care for our 1-year-old daughter and/or do some light tidying around the house. The only definitive times we need are full Fridays and the full days when I’m unexpectedly hospitalized. Other hours can be agreed in advance depending on both your and our needs/preferences.

We need an extra pair of trustworthy hands who can be flexible in what you do from day to day. Some days that’s taking the baby to her classes, some days that’s staying around the house and supporting me, and on some days that may be doing some housework I am falling behind on while I enjoy alone time with the baby. We do have a cleaner come also.

About us: I’m Vanessa, an American nanny retrained as a sustainability consultant, now SAHM. Sathya is a photographer and data analyst. We’re a blended family that loves adventure. We work from home but can walk to our offices, allowing us to flex our day as needed.

You should love reading to her, being silly, and allowing her to lead in play, often giving her space for independent play. Familiarity with Montessori and Gentle Parenting is a plus, but a willingness to learn is just as good. You should be comfortable setting gentle boundaries to teach her what is safe and acceptable.

Start is ASAP so please message me letting me know what about our family and needs interests you!

PS - We would happily arrange live-in in our private en-suite if you prefer.
