Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

  • Location: Lytham (Lancashire)
  • Job Type: Full-time (Flexibility working pattern across Monday-Saturday)
  • Reporting to: Maintenance Supervisor

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Electro/Mechanical Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a Manufacturer in the heart of Lancashire. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of plant machinery, ensuring efficient and effective production. This role requires a self-starter who can resolve a wide range of routine and complex issues independently and carry out medium mechanical engineering installations.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and communicate progress to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Reorder used parts as required, maintaining stock levels.
  • Complete preventative plant maintenance and maintain full documentation, escalating faults when necessary.
  • Ensure quality compliance and complete routine documentation in line with manufacturing requirements.
  • Comply with all site policies, including Health, Safety, Environment, and Energy (HSHE).
  • Manage all electrical/mechanical contractors on-site, including documentation such as Systems of Work, Permits to Work, and Risk Assessments.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • NVQ 4 /HNC in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive experience in mechanical engineering maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • 18th Edition qualification is preferable.
  • Experience working at heights.
  • Proficiency in electrical controls, electrostatic powder coating plants, hydraulic and pneumatic controls, mechanical fitting, service and repair, and mechanical installation.
  • Skills in electrical installation, plumbing, power presses, fabrication and welding.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of IOSH, COSHH, and operational fault finding.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage self, and coach and develop others.
