What you will be doing as the Mechanical Maintenance Technician

\n

\n
• Acting as a first response to all equipment breakdowns on shift.
\n
• Diagnosing and rectifying faults and ensuring all information is recorded for analysis
\n
• Assisting in the delivery of a robust and successful planned maintenance system
\n
• Provide a thorough and detailed handover of any breakdowns to the relieving shift when breakdown spans shift changeover
\n
• Consulting senior engineers and managers for guidance and assistance during extended breakdowns.
\n
• Issuing permits for site authorisation to work.
\n
• Overhauling equipment in the workshop
\n
• Assisting with changeovers of equipment where necessary
\n
• Contributing to upgrade and improvement projects as needed
\n

What you will need

\n

\n
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
\n
• A time served mechanical apprenticeship.
\n
• Some basic electrical knowledge would be beneficial.
\n
• Experience with conveyors, pneumatics, hydraulics, FMCG packaging equipment, rotating equipment, etc.
\n
• Ability to use workshop equipment.
\n
• Experience with PLC-driven and automated equipment is desirable.
\n

\n

What you will receive

\n

A salary of £42,000-£45,000 (inclusive of shift allowance - dependent on experience) + pension, (matched up to 6%), Private Medical, etc.

\n

There will be scope for the salary to move up to £49,000 within circa 12 months of joining once some onsite training and development has been achieved.

\n

The working hours

\n

You will work a rotating 4 on 4 off shift pattern (2 days - 7am-7pm, 2 nights - 7pm-7am, 4 rest days) with an 18 day break every 7 rotations.
