Humber Recruitment have openings for a valued client working on an ongoing temporary contract, with a view to the role becoming permanent for the right people.

You must be physically fit, keen to learn, hardworking and a team player.

What you need to know about the role
This role will see you supporting the Shift Manager within a Port environment to achieve optimum levels of production, plant operational targets, product quality, customer service and health and safety objectives. You will be expected to participate and actively contribute in team activities utilising appropriate process, technical and engineering skills to achieve manufacturing, quality and service targets.

You will need to contribute to initiatives related to improving health and safety performance, taking an active part in risk assessment/hazard identification for all plant/operational activities and taking account of appropriate regulations.

Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

· Discharging Coal, Coke and Iron Ore vessels using Tukan Unloaders.

· Storage of the above ensuring minimal material losses.

· Loading trains and lorries with various commodities for transportation to Scunthorpe.

· Carrying out sampling duties of imported cargo.

· Maintain high levels of general housekeeping.

What we need to know about you
We’re looking for someone with an understanding of health and safety and the importance it has in the working environment. You will need to be proactive, reliable and punctual with a keen eye for detail.

You should have the ability to undertake training to drive and operate mobile plant such as loading shovels, Fork Lift Trucks and capital plant, therefore it is a requirement that you hold a provisional driving licence as minimum.

The role can be physically demanding and involves some climbing of stairs and cleaning of conveyor systems. You will also need to be flexible and able to work a variety of shift patterns to cover for holidays, sickness and unforeseen issues.

Job Type: Full-time 12 hour shifts (4 on and 4 off) including days and nights

Pay: From £37,000 per year

Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
