Multi Track Personal Injury Litigator - Grade A Solicitor

Role: Personal Injury Litigator/ Grade A Solicitor Location: Slough

Main Purpose:

  • To provide a first-class service to private clients in the area of Personal Injury.
  • To assist the firm in meeting its business objectives in accordance with the Business Plan.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage your own casework, acting for claimants in moderate to high-value Personal Injury matters, adhering to procedural and funding guidelines, and providing support to partners and senior solicitors on more extensive and high-value matters.
  • Understand medical issues in the context of PI claims and investigate and apply these to the law in the best interest of the client.
  • Develop an understanding of financial management of files (WIP, disbursements, billing, and profitability) and work to meet or exceed set targets.
  • Ensure compliance with external regulatory bodies, quality of work, and financial performance.
  • Serve as a mentor to junior fee earners.
  • Perform any other relevant tasks allocated by management.

Essential Knowledge / Skills / Personal Attributes:

  • Valid, clean Practising Certificate / Admitted solicitor with current Practising Certificate in place (no conditions or regulatory body restrictions).
  • Prior experience in good quality claimant PI matters, Grade A Solicitor experienced in EL/PL.
  • Strong litigation experience.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and demonstrate good problem-solving skills.
  • Sensitivity, confidentiality, and empathy in client matters.
  • Professional attitude and excellent client care.
  • Attention to detail and pride in work.
  • Adept at time management and working to strict deadlines.
  • Business acumen.
  • Commitment to service quality and client care.
  • IT literacy - Microsoft packages and Solicitors Case Management Systems (Partner for Windows preferred).

Preferred Knowledge / Skills:

  • Previous experience of Trade Union work.
  • Previous use of Digital Dictation (BigHand) - training will be provided.
