Multimodal Customs Coordinator

Location: Aberdeen

Salary: Dependant on experience
Pension Scheme: Employee and Employer contributions.
Holidays: 28 days annual leave, inclusive of public holidays (2 days at Christmas and 2 days at New Year). Holiday entitlement calculated pro-rata based on start date.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 5:30pm.

About the Role:
Our client an established logistics provider offering bespoke freight forwarding solutions in Aberdeen are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Multi-Modal Operations Coordinator to join the dynamic operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating imports and exports, handling customs clearance processes, and providing top-notch support within our freight and customs operations. This is a fast-paced, office-based role that requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work efficiently under deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle customs clearance processes, including preparing declarations via CDS.
  • Manage import/export freight quotations (experience is a plus but not required).
  • Complete job file administration in a professional and timely manner.
  • Interact with clients, suppliers, and colleagues via phone, email, and in-person.
  • Support the Freight Forwarding and Customs Manager in customs control checks and documentation.
  • Operate MultiFreight (or similar systems) for freight management and invoicing (training will be provided).
  • Maintain high attention to detail and a positive, solution-focused attitude in all tasks.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in customs clearance or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of the customs clearance process.
  • Experience in freight quotations (Import/Export) is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficient in office-based freight & customs operations.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Able to work confidently under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Comfortable using IT systems, preferably with experience in MultiFreight or similar software.
