Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer
We are working with a hugely respected manufacturer in the Wellingborough area, and they are seeking a highly skilled Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to play a crucial role in maintaining and improving the company’s plant machinery and facilities.
Job Responsibilities
As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer you will:
- Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all plant machinery to minimise downtime and optimise operational efficiency
- Oversee and carry out necessary building maintenance ensuring a safe and functional working environment
- Liaise with external contractors for specialised maintenance, repairs, and installation of new machinery and building services, ensuring work is carried out to high standards and in line with safety protocols
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and facility issues, troubleshooting and resolving problems to minimise impact on production
- Implement and adhere to all health and safety policies, ensuring maintenance tasks are carried out in a safe manner and all statutory compliance requirements are met
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements, ensuring that maintenance logs and reports are up to date
- Work closely with the operations and production teams to schedule maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to manufacturing processes
- Proactively identify areas for improvement within maintenance processes and propose initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reliability
Person Specification
To be successful as a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer you will require:
- An apprenticeship, with a minimum NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance engineering role
- Strong multiskilled background, including both electrical and mechanical disciplines
- Electrical knowledge, with 18th Edition certification preferred
- Familiarity with PLC systems and Inverter Drives
- Solid understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics (approximately 60% of work is mechanical)
Hours of Work and Pay
- Up to £38,000
- Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm
- You will be expected to work one Saturday a month 6am to 11am
