Overview: Dunbar Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Music and Drama Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in Luton, Bedfordshire. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months of UK education experience and a strong commitment to fostering a creative and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in both Music and Drama to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, following the national curriculum guidelines.
  • Student Development: Encourage and inspire students to develop their musical and dramatic skills through practical and theoretical instruction.
  • Performance Coordination: Organize and oversee school performances, concerts, and drama productions, providing students with opportunities to showcase their talents.
  • Assessment: Monitor, assess, and report on students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Classroom Management: Create a positive and disciplined classroom environment that fosters respect and promotes a love for the arts.
  • Extra-Curricular Activities: Lead and participate in extra-curricular activities, such as school choirs, bands, drama clubs, and theatre trips.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay abreast of new teaching methods, technologies, and curricular changes.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to enhance the overall educational experience for students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educational Background: A degree in Music, Drama, Performing Arts, or a related field.
  • Teaching Qualification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum of 6 months of experience teaching in the UK education system.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire students.
