A National Accounts Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in driving business growth within the Building & Energy Management Systems (BEMS) market.



This position is responsible for identifying and securing new customers, expanding existing accounts, and developing strategic sales opportunities across multiple channels. With a strong focus on new business acquisition, the role requires a commercially driven individual who thrives in a target-orientated environment.



Key Responsibilities




  • New Business Development – Proactively identify and engage potential clients in the BEMS sector, including FM companies, management agents, and end-users. Develop new routes to market and capitalise on emerging sales opportunities.

  • Account Management – Maintain and grow a portfolio of national accounts by delivering tailored solutions, upselling additional services, and fostering strong relationships with key decision-makers.

  • Strategic Sales Planning – Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with overall business objectives. Ensure sustained revenue growth through targeted engagement and market positioning.

  • Pipeline & Target Achievement – Build a robust sales pipeline to consistently meet and exceed sales and margin targets. Provide regular forecasting and performance reports.

  • Collaboration & Stakeholder Management – Work closely with internal teams, including Technical Support, Service Delivery, and Leadership, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and customer satisfaction.

  • Bid & Proposal Management – Take ownership of the bid process, ensuring proposals are competitive, technically robust, and aligned with business goals.

  • Market Awareness & Brand Promotion – Promote the company’s BEMS solutions, positioning them as a market leader through industry engagement, client meetings, and thought leadership initiatives.



Skills & Experience Required




  • Proven experience in a target-driven sales environment, ideally within the BEMS, energy management, or building controls sector.

  • A strong track record of consistently achieving and exceeding business sales targets.

  • Ability to develop client-focused commercial solutions that provide tangible value and differentiation in a competitive market.

  • Strong understanding of building energy management systems, data analytics, and bid management.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and commercially aware, with an ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and develop long-term partnerships with key industry contacts.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience using service management and financial systems.

  • Growth in customer acquisition and retention within the BEMS market.

  • Achievement of personal sales and margin targets.

  • Development of a strong sales pipeline with accurate forecasting.
