Neighbourhood Services Officer

This position is Permanent.
As a Neighbourhood Services Officer, you will be expected to:
Manage a neighbourhood area.
Manage lettings of available homes.
Show effective management of void properties.
Ensure correct income payments are made by customers.
Effectively identifying and managing arrears cases.
Manage starter tenancies.
Liese with the local councils housing benefit teams.
Deal with tenancy successions, assignments, and mutual exchanges.
Proactively deal with suspected abandoned properties.
Support asset management programme, gas servicing programme and compliance requirements through access to properties.
Effectively and pro-actively manage Anti-Social Behaviour Cases.
Effectively estate manage through neighbourhood walkabouts and partnership working.
Carry out Tenancy Audits.
Identify customers who require additional support to sustain their tenancy and liaise with relevant agencies.
Lead community engagement and resident empowerment work.
Take legal action when necessary to address breaches of tenancy.
Attend court for hearings and giving evidence as a witness on behalf of OVH.
Apply for, monitoring, and attend evictions.
Have a flexible approach to work. There will be a necessity to work outside normal working hours, during evening and weekends as directed.
Meet objectives and support the delivery and achievement of overall business objectives.

To be successful in a Neighbourhood Services Officerrole, the skills you will need:
To be educated to level 2 (5 GCSE grade A-C) standard or equivalent.
Experience of working and achieving objectives, both team and individual.
Experience of dealing with people in a customer facing role and achieving positive results.
The Ability to work without direct supervision and organise own workload in the most productive way.
To demonstrate resilience when faced with challenging situations and tasks.
Positive, adaptable attitude and motivated to improve.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to tailor messages appropriately to different audiences.
High level of IT literacy with the ability to adapt quickly to bespoke software packages and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook at an intermediate level.
Able to work flexibility including occasional evenings and weekends.
Use of a car for work purposes.
Ability to work remotely and flexibly where needed.
Ofqual regulated CIH (3,5,7) Qualification or the commitment to work towards.
Excellent communication skills, able to communicate across multiple channels including Microsoft Teams, Face to Face and Email.

Experience or Knowledge of the below would be advantageous but not essential:
Experience of using a range of solutions to effectively manage challenging situations to an effective resolution.

Willing to recognise opportunities for improvements and take calculated risks to achieve objectives.
