Job Title: Network Engineer (Some Infrastructure)
Location: 2 days a week in Corsham but otherwise Remote

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 depending on experience
Security Clearance: The role will require DV when fully operational but happy to look at candidate who either have current clearance or an ability to go through the process (UK Born is going to be essential)

The Role:
As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will:
Design, deploy, and manage software-defined and physical networks in a secure private cloud.
Support multi-tenant environments, ensuring seamless onboarding and transition of tenants with diverse network and application needs.
Implement and maintain Cisco ACI/APIC and Fortigate Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW) at both the edge and core.
Manage VMware NSX-T to ensure integration with Cisco ACI networking.
Ensure security best practices, vulnerability scanning (Nessus), and system hardening (CIS benchmarks).
Provide third-line technical support and respond to live operational incidents.
Create and maintain detailed system design and configuration documentation.
The Person:
You should have experience in secure network infrastructure within defence, MOD, or government environments.
Essential skills include:
Cisco ACI/APIC spine and leaf network architecture (or relevant Cisco certification).
Fortigate NGFW and FortiSwitch management.
VMware NSX-T virtualised networking.
Experience in air-gapped/non-internet connected environments.
Strong troubleshooting and third-line support capabilities.
Desirable Skills:
VMware Cloud Foundation (vSphere 7+), VMware Aria Operations (SIEM integration).
Linux (Ubuntu preferred) and Windows OS administration.
Automation/scripting (GitLab CI/CD, Python, Shell, PowerShell).
Security Clearance:
The role will require DV when fully operational but happy to look at candidate who either have current clearance or an ability to go through the process (UK Born is going to be essential)
It would be ideal for those who may have clearance that has lapsed and you wish to renew
This role requires 2 days a week in Corsham, the rest will be remote with potential for very occasional travel to other sites including Portsmouth.
