Our client is a small, friendly and incredibly successful bunch!



They are a mid-sized firm with very low staff-turnover (the newest team member was 5 years ago!). They have recently won several large projects in London and the home counties and are currently seeking an ambitious and driven Junior / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor ideally with estimating experience, to join their growing team.



As a Quantity Surveying Estimator, you will play a crucial role in generating detailed and accurate quotes for both new and ongoing projects based on client drawings and specifications and delivering projects within budget. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in quantity surveying, a keen eye for detail, and excellent communication skills.

Job Type: Permanent 



Salary: £35,000-£55,000 pa depending on experience



Location: Office based in Hertfordshire but will also be required to visit sites in London generally up to twice a week. 



Main responsibilities:




  • Undertaking the preparation and processing of quotations, bids, and tenders.

  • Produce bill of quantities for final submission.

  • To carry out monthly valuations of work in progress.

  • Measure, value, submit and negotiate contract variations.

  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Provide advice to project staff on commercial and contractual matters and attend site when required.

  • Assist in the process of reviewing and processing subcontractors payment applications.

  • Compliance with and assistance in helping promote the Health and Safety policy.



Experience / Qualifications needed:




  • Degree in quantity surveying or associated construction field ideal but not essential 

  • Surveying/estimating experience 1+ years
