We have an exciting opportunity for a New Product Introduction Engineer (NPI Engineer) to join the Production Engineering team based in Kingswinford.The purpose of this role is toProvide engineering support for tooling, processes and checking fixtures to include concepts, layouts and cycle times as required.To lead and deploy best engineering practices in manufacturing, by way of reducing cost and cycle times but improving material flow.Create, modify and interpret Engineering Drawings, Specifications and CAD models for Handicare products and processes.Core responsibilities include:Lead Design for Manufacture activities, for all new part introductions.Self-manage production line trial activities, with the ability to scope and resolve engineering activities.Assist in creating a facility that delivers a quality product, that is recognised as such by our customers.Establish new and existing processes and facilities that minimise manufacturing cost and improve associate safety.Create and manage project plans for medium and larger sized engineering projects.Deploy modern lean manufacturing techniques.Key focus on manufacture and light assembly, hand tools, jigs & fixturing.Support the Production & Maintenance engineering team.Requirements:Holds a Mechanical Engineering degree, other sectors will be considered.3 years’ Engineering/Manufacturing experience.Drawing interpretation, GD&T, technical specifications, and product control documentation.Experience with machining processes, drilling, cutting, milling.Experience with forming processes, bending.Experience with joining processes, mechanical joining and welding.Experience with bespoke machinery and fixturing.Key skills and qualities:Excellent interpersonal skills at all business levels.Good presentation/ communication skills.Good at prioritising and managing high workload.Analysing and interpreting data with good reporting skills.Hands on and methodical.Resilient to see things through.Good at planning & organising.WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?We offer a package designed to attract and retain the right level of talent for this role.
