The role is managed by the Head of Operations for New Ventures and works closely alongside the Product Lead and a variety of subject matter experts (SMEs) across the organisation.The New Ventures team currently oversees the delivery of the UK Year of Service programme and also provides support to the Director of Business Development and Head of Business Development for new funding and/or project opportunities. As a small team, the support of internal stakeholders and SMEs is critical; this role is responsible for engaging and maintaining positive relationships with these stakeholders.This is a hands-on role, with potential for external stakeholder engagement to advocate and promote new opportunities. We are looking for applicants who are passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people and who value ensuring youth voice is embedded within project and delivery life cycles.You can find out more about UK Year of Service here on NCS’ website.Role PurposeTo ensure each project is correctly set up and delivered through a detailed project plan, clear KPIs, a strong data management framework and the right governanceTo provide matrixed support to the development of bids and grants that help NCS achieve its income generation goalsTo support the planning and delivery of events associated with New VenturesKey activitiesLead cross functional project groups. Ensure the right capability & capacity of resources are in place throughout the programme implementation & delivery life cyclesEnsure all project activity is delivered on time & risks are effectively logged and mitigatedLead the data management processes to ensure we can deliver our CRM, Evaluation and GDPR compliance objectives across all projectsSet up the management reporting for all projects in conjunction with the Strategy and Insight department.Ensure effective governance is in place for all activitySupporting the completion of tender responses by collating relevant information and detail from subject matter expertsAdvocating and promoting NCS programmes to a diverse range of audiencesRole specific skills Highly developed organisational and project management skills including process mapping and gap analysisExcellent communication skills, particularly an ability to communicate tasks and expectations clearly and succinctly, engaging and influencing both internal and external stakeholdersAbility to take initiative and work in dependently Resilience and drive to deliver an ambitious planA creative problem solver with the drive and ability to evaluate working practices for areas of improvementStrong at stakeholder management and conflict resolutionMeasures of successA clear project plan exists and is being proactively managedAll matrix resource is engaged and delivering to task and all key stakeholders are well informed KPIs and management reporting is set up in advance of the project to deliver against agreed objectives and is kept up to date during the project on a frequent basisData has been accurately mapped and associated processes and documentation are in place to ensure that it delivers to our Evaluation & CRM requirements and is GDPR compliantExperience & QualificationsEssential:Experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external and managing conflicting expectationsExperience in creating processes that are easy to understand and deliver against agreed objectivesExperience of managing and delivering project objectives through matrix workingExcellent IT skills, with good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Smart sheetsDesirable:Experience of setting up data management frameworks, leading a DPIA and working in conjunction with Evaluation teamExperience of the bid management process and development of successful tender responsesOur benefits include:28 days annual leave in addition to Bank Holiday entitlements.5 Volunteer daysEnhanced Maternity/Paternity/New parental (Subject to 1 year of service) payLife Assurance24/7 access to an Employee Assistance ProgramAccess to a self-directed learning and development platformAccess to a national discount platform, shared with one family memberDiscounted Eye CareCycle to work schemeFlexible workingWell being daysWe welcome applications from candidates who do not have all of the criteria for the role.
