Location : Leeming Bar
Salary:
£50,000 - £60,000 (DOE) – Holidays 25 days + stats
Hours:
35 Hours per week – Flexibility around start and finish times
Purpose of the role:
The position of NPD/Technical Manager is an extremely exciting opportunity to play a part in the company's expansion plans for the future. Reporting directly to the C

O this position is instrumental to our client's growth and future development.
You will work closely with the COO at site to ensure all NPD and internal projects/audits are delivered on time and in full against the project plan and site requirements
Duties:
Development of new products from initial concept to approval.
Take ownership for and ensure continuous improvement of the site Food Safety & Quality Management System and Manual
Lead on all customer certification and factory food safety and quality audits, maintain site approvals and certification.
Manage BRC, customer audits and conduct supplier compliance inspections maintaining strong relationships with the Competent Authorities.
Ensure all NPD products run efficiently in production and that there is a formal handover of new products to site operational teams.
Attend production trials where required and co-ordinate sample despatch to customers for approval
Develop detailed reports on trials and circulate to site where relevant.
Validate recipes to ensure they are nutritionally complete, of required palatability, legally compliant and efficient on site.
Deliver Technical reports to the business and customers as required in a timely manner and review technical policies, procedures and standards on a regular basis ensuring legislative updates are applied and adhered to
Support teams with recipe amendments based on raw material availability.
Participate in customer visits and presentations where required.
Weekly plans and reports
The successful candidate will have experience of working within a food manufacturing environment and be educated to degree level in a Food Science or Nutrition related discipline.
You will have experience of third party BRC audits and possess exceptional organisational skills with the ability to work using your own initiative. A strong planner, you will be able to demonstrate flexibility in working towards changing business demands and be motivational with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment in order to take the business to the next level.
