A leading FMCG Food manufacturer is currently recruiting for a New Product Development Technologist / NPD Technologist to support the NPD & commercial team to innovate and develop new and existing products from benchmarking, developing, and launching products across retail, food service and B2B.

A full driving license and transport will be required for this position.
The role is site-based Monday to Friday.

Development Technologist / NPD Technologist responsibilities include:

Develop products in the NPD kitchen which can be scaled up on our factory production lines.
Manage projects and tasks internally alongside customer requests whilst ensuring work is completed in line with the key dates on the critical path.
Organise and execute factory trials by ordering ingredients, planning paperwork, and attending the trials with the factory.
Create recipes, costings and samples of new products working alongside NPD chefs and the team of technologists
Develop recipes based on a customer brief or for an innovation session
Costing up recipes and completing NPD specs
Completing sample submission forms and customer presentation PowerPoints
Sourcing and ordering new raw materials and packaging for briefs
Organising sample request that are to be sent to customers with labels, cooking instructions and NPD specs
Meeting critical paths for each project
Keep up to date with food trends and macro trends which influence food choices.
Organising Christmas & BBQ benchmarking sessions
Maintain organisation of the NPD stock in the freezers
Innovation development of new products based on trends that fit within our factory capabilities
Supporting the process manager on factory trials
Support factory trials by providing recipes, specs, methods for new products progressing to trials
Taste panels and sign off products/packaging following factory trials

You will ideally be degree qualified / equivalent in a Food Science discipline and have experience working within an NPD department in the food industry. You will be IT literate in Excel, Word, Power-point and be able to work cross functionally with a positive can-do attitude. You will have excellent attention to detail with good organisational skills and have a keen interest in food
