Nursery Assistant
Position: Nursery Assistant
Location: West Sussex and Surrey
Hours: Full-Time or Part-Time, Term-Time Only
Contract Type: Permanent or Fixed-Term

About the Role:
Randstad Education is looking for compassionate and enthusiastic Nursery Assistants to join our partner nurseries and schools across West Sussex and Surrey. In this role, you will support young children's early learning and development, helping to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that allows them to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily activities of the nursery, including play, learning, and mealtimes.
  • Help plan and deliver activities that support children's physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth.
  • Ensure the safety, health, and well-being of all children in your care.
  • Build positive relationships with children, encouraging their confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with nursery staff and teachers to foster a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Help prepare and tidy the nursery or classroom, keeping the space clean and organised.
  • Observe and monitor children's progress, contributing to records and reports as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on their child's development.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young children in a nursery or early years setting is highly desirable.
  • Caring, patient, and nurturing approach to supporting children's development.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework is advantageous.
  • Relevant childcare qualifications (such as NVQ Level 2 or 3) are beneficial but not essential.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
