A private family run nursery in Finchley that caters for children aged 3 months to 5 years is looking an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Manager to join their team ASAP.



The successful candidate must be highly motivated, have a positive attitude towards working with children, and be ready to lead and manage a team of staff.



It's an office based role but you will be required to cover across all classrooms and kitchen when needed whilst supervising 39�staff daily across the 5 classrooms.



This is a FULL TIME PERMANENT vacancy and you will need to be able to commit to working Monday to Friday 40 hours per week:



Rotating shifts:



Opening Nursery: 7am-4pm



Closing Nursery: 9.30am-6.30pm



The successful candidate will be required to carry out the following duties:




  • To assist the Manager and deputise in the absence of the Manager

  • Supporting & supervising members of staff

  • Ensuring policies & procedures are kept up to date and ensure all staff are aware of changes

  • Responsible for ratios, ensuring you have enough staff at all times

  • Provide safe, High Quality Care and Education for the children aged between 3 months and five years on a daily basis.

  • To fulfil legal and statutory requirements as stated by the governing body OFSTED, EYFS, Safeguarding, Fire Safety Regulations, Health and Safety Regulations, Local Authority Regulations, Food Safety

  • To be committed to continuous professional development and promote this within the Nursery.

  • To be a positive role model for staff, parents and children at all times.



If you meet the following requirements please apply today:




  • Minimum level 3 childcare qualification

  • At least 2 years experience managing a childcare setting

  • Confident with leading & supervising

  • Aware of Ofsted requirements

  • Team player

  • Up to date DBS (if not, be willing to get a new one)

  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills

  • Clear and demonstrable management and leadership skills

  • Good ICT skills-Microsoft Word, Excel

Salary starting at �40,000 (Salary negotiable depending on experience)
