Our mission is to deliver outstanding early years education and care, and we are seeking a passionate and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to help bring this vision to life.
Role Overview
The Deputy Nursery Manager will play a key role in supporting the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day operations of the nursery, ensuring a high standard of care and education. You will be an integral part of the leadership team, providing guidance and support to staff, maintaining regulatory compliance, and fostering a positive and enriching environment for children, parents, and educators alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing all aspects of nursery operations, including staff management, curriculum delivery, and compliance with EYFS and Ofsted standards.
- Take responsibility for the nursery in the absence of the Manager.
- Assist with staff training, development, and performance management, ensuring the team is motivated and well-supported.
- Ensure a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for all children, promoting their emotional, social, and cognitive development.
- Build strong, professional relationships with parents and caregivers, maintaining open communication and ensuring their needs are met.
- Help develop and implement age-appropriate, creative learning programs that promote the individual needs of each child.
- Take part in the recruitment and onboarding of new staff members.
- Contribute to safeguarding and child protection, adhering to all health and safety regulations and policies.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling, record-keeping, and reporting as required by management.
Skills and Experience Required
- Proven experience in a Deputy Manager or Room Leader role within an early years setting.
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Childcare (Level 5 or Early Years degree desirable).
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Ofsted requirements.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
- A passion for early years education, with a commitment to providing the best care and learning opportunities.
- A thorough understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and child protection procedures.
- Organized, flexible, and proactive, with the ability to handle administrative duties efficiently.
