About the Role:
Aspire People is seeking a qualified and committed Occupational Therapist to join our team in supporting students at an ASD school in Wednesbury. You will be responsible for delivering tailored therapy services to help promote students' independence and development, focusing on motor, sensory, and functional skills.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough assessments of students with ASD, identifying sensory, motor, and functional needs.
* Develop and implement individualised therapy plans to support students' physical and emotional well-being.
* Provide one-on-one and group therapy sessions tailored to the specific needs of each child.
* Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and other professionals to implement therapeutic strategies within the school setting.
* Offer guidance and support to staff on adapting environments and activities to promote inclusion and engagement.
* Contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, reviews, and care plans for students.
Requirements:
* A qualified Occupational Therapist with a relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
* HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registration.
* Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), preferably within an educational setting.
* Strong knowledge and experience in sensory integration, motor skills development, and functional assessments.
* An empathetic, patient, and flexible approach when working with children with additional needs.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* An enhanced DBS on the update service is required for all candidates.
