Job Purpose:
To provide tutorial support and guidance, including formative and summative assessment, in the relevant subject discipline(s) to a range of students on their selected programme of study and across multiple Access to HE Diplomas.
This role is subject specific, and we are particularly interested in applicants with the following subject specialisms:

\n- Psychology
\n- Sociology

Tutors must hold a first degree in their relevant subject specialism as a minimum and a full recognised teaching qualification. Successful candidates should have experience of tutoring at level 3 or higher as the programmes are to support students to progress to higher education. Experience of tutoring adult learners would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:\n- Provide appropriate feedback on student submissions, both formative and summative, in relevant subject discipline(s).
\n- Mark all assignments in relevant subject discipline(s) within 5 working days from submission.
\n- Respond to all learner messages, queries, and requests for formative feedback in relevant subject discipline(s) within 72 hours maximum.
\n- Maintain high standards of tutoring and assessment practice and ensure compliance with quality regulations and guidelines as stipulated by the AVA.
\n- Provide additional support, as required, to meet individual student needs thus encouraging and promoting the process of student learning and progression.
\n- Attend and contribute to team meetings, standardisation meetings and 121 meetings.
\n- Participate in course and curriculum monitoring, reviews, and evaluations, as required, to ensure that course content remains fit for purpose, with due recognition of the relevant syllabus and course specifications.
\n- Establish clear expectations and positive working relationships amongst the team through teamwork and mutual support.
\n- Be flexible and ensure that operational needs and deadlines are consistently met.
\n- Uphold all Policies and Procedures, for example, Safeguarding, Equality, Inclusion & Diversity, Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, Conflict of Interest.
\n- Perform other duties, as agreed, relevant to the role and to meet the operational needs of the business.
\n- Maintain own training, development and CPD in accordance with the College Quality Assurance Process and awarding organisation requirements, including attending monthly 1-2-1 meetings with line manager.

What we are looking for in you (Essential): \n- A proven track record of supporting students through their chosen programme of study within a relevant academic setting.
\n- Successful teaching and learning experience.
\n- Commitment to learning and development for self and students
\n- Educated to degree level or above in relevant subject specialism(s).
\n- Must hold a nationally approved teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent).
\n- Must hold GCSE English and Maths, or equivalent.
\n- Evidence of CPD, including Safeguarding and Prevent.
\n- Ability to work flexibly and effectively under pressure.
\n- Effective time management and management of workload.
\n- Ability to meet deadlines, targets and KPIs.
\n- Excellent level of attention to detail applied to all tasks.
\n- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
\n- To have a positive and can-do attitude even when under pressure.
\n- Excellent teaching and learning experience.
\n- A broad understanding of computer systems, applications, and operating systems, in particular Word, Excel, Power-point, and experience of using online learning platforms.
\n- Knowledge and experience of quality standards, Access to HE, and QAA - desirable

\n \n- Qualified IQA or Internal Verifier - desirable
