Job Title: Operational Engineer

Job Purpose:
Join our team to lead engineering activities within the Project team for critical power services. You will deliver essential construction, asset replacement, and fault response tasks, ensuring safe and efficient work on both company and client-owned assets (400V to 132kV). As a Project Engineer, you will also deputize for the Lead Operational Engineer, attend client and contractor meetings, and maintain high safety standards in all operations.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Lead construction programs and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of engineering activities.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Lead Engineers, and field teams to manage day-to-day project execution and client coordination.
- Oversee compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols, as well as contractual commitments.
- Conduct testing, commissioning, and maintenance of HV/LV distribution systems.
- Manage on-site contractors, coordinate asset database updates, and maintain control and protection systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily activities with clients and contractors to ensure schedule adherence.
- Provide technical support, participate in standby rotations, and respond to system faults.
- Manage change notices, participate in team briefings, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational procedures during all engineering activities.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of HV/LV systems, protection relay programming, and testing.
- Familiarity with construction management, budgeting, and client liaison.
- Proficiency in compliance with H&S procedures and distribution safety rules.
- Previous experience in the energy or power distribution sector is a plus.
