Operational Purchaser

Copello have partnered with a defence business based in Havant, in the recruitment of an Operational Purchaser on a contract basis. Contract length expected to be 6 months, minimum.
Please note candidates must be eligible for SC Clearance.
Responsibilities:

• Processing requisitions and placement of purchase orders in SAP.


• Expedite purchase orders as required in-line with manufacturing requirements.


• Supplier liaison - monitor performance through KPIs and foster collaborative relationships.


• Contribute to procurement department cost down targets.


• Support with the Indirect procurement activities as required.


• Support internal colleagues with the indirect purchase process.


• Support the resolution of invoice queries.


• Stock and maintain the stationery cupboard.


• Book and escort visitors where required around the facility.


• Address and resolve PPE-related issues as they arise.

Requirements:

As an ideal candidate, you will have: 

• Proven experience within a supply chain role, preferably within defence, manufacturing or engineering environment.


• Strong IT skills - familiarity with SAP or MRP/ERP system experience.


• Strong Analytics Skills.


• Proven ability to grasp and retain new concepts with little guidance.


• Problem Solving and decision making oriented.


• Good communication and team working skills.


• Strong personal drive used to take own initiatives and be proactive.


• Ideally have or working towards CIPS qualification.
