Manpower is recruiting an Operational Team Leader - North Wales on behalf of our client.

Location: Home-based with travel across North Wales

Salary: �42,000

Contract: Permanent

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8.30 am - 5.00 pm
Role Overview
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and driven Team Leader to manage and oversee the accommodation portfolio in North Wales. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team, responsible for the management of housing and services that meet the needs of Service Users, ensuring compliance with policies and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will work closely with a second Team Leader and a team of Housing Officers, supporting them in property inspections, welfare checks, and incident management. The role will require travel across North Wales and potentially other parts of Wales in the absence of the other Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities

Staff Management & Leadership

  • Manage a team of Housing Officers, providing guidance and support in carrying out property inspections, complaints management, and safeguarding.
  • Plan and prioritize your diary to ensure timely completion of one-to-ones, performance reviews, and inspections.
  • Actively support the team in meeting KPIs and Home Office contract requirements.
  • Attend regular meetings and liaise with local authorities, the police, and other emergency services.
  • Ensure that complaints and incidents are addressed in a timely and professional manner.


Operational Management

  • Oversee the performance of properties and accommodation services in your area, ensuring they meet health and safety standards.
  • Manage a caseload of up to 1000 Service Users and 300 properties, conducting regular visits and inspections.
  • Work alongside the Property Team in procuring new properties and managing any defects.
  • Monitor property portfolio efficiency, making recommendations for relocations or terminations where appropriate.


Supporting Service Users

  • Ensure Housing Officers facilitate inductions and dispersals for Service Users in line with contractual agreements.
  • Monitor the health and safety compliance of properties, ensuring any concerns are reported promptly.
  • Manage overstayers and refusals to vacate properties.


Collaboration & Communication:

  • Maintain regular contact with your line manager and attend daily operational meetings.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and authorities as required.
  • Provide cover for the other Team Leader in the Southwest region when needed.


Personal Development & Training

  • Take responsibility for your personal development, undertaking relevant training as part of your development plan.
  • Ensure you and your team stay up to date with all relevant policies and procedures.


Skills & Experience

  • Previous supervisory or management experience, preferably in housing or operations management.
  • Experience working with vulnerable service users and an understanding of welfare and safeguarding protocols.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate and build relationships at all levels.
  • Operational experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working under pressure.
  • Full UK driving license and ability to travel across a large geographical area.
