Our client a leading manufacturer are seeking to recruit an Operations Manager (Warehouse & Logistics) if you are a driven a passion operations manager in the manufacturing industry this may be the next move for you. Responsibilities Warehouse Management: Oversee all warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, and dispatching Implement effective warehouse layout and space optimization strategies Ensure accurate tracking of all stock through efficient inventory management systems; Ensure that warehouse practices comply with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards. Logistics Coordination: Manage the logistics team to ensure deliveries to customers are on-time and in full (OTIF) and efficient transport of goods; Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments while minimizing delays and optimizing costs; Develop and maintain relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and transportation companies; Monitor and evaluate the performance of logistics partners to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met. Team Leadership and Development: Lead and motivate a team of warehouse and logistics personnel, including warehouse supervisors, logistics coordinators, and material handlers; Recruit, train, and develop staff to ensure high performance and continuous improvement; Set clear goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching and feedback; Deal with day to day industrial relations problems ensuring legislation and company procedures are adhered to; Ensure that company procedures are followed with respect to recruitment and promotion of staff (policy guidelines); Ensure compliance with the company's Equal Opportunity Policy; Ensure that the company attendance management policy is implemented. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve warehouse and logistics processes, reduce costs, and enhance productivity; Implement Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies to streamline operations; Ensure proper utilization of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics tracking tools. Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure the warehouse and logistics teams adhere to all safety guidelines and legal requirements; Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to maintain a safe working environment; Maintain accurate records for health and safety compliance and take corrective action where necessary. Financial Management: Monitor warehouse and logistics budgets and control operational costs; Prepare regular reports on KPIs, including cost per delivery, warehouse productivity, and stock accuracy; Collaborate with the finance department to monitor expenditures and track savings. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the production, procurement, and sales teams to align operations with business needs; Communicate effectively with all levels of management to provide status updates on warehouse and logistics activities; Handle escalations related to shipping, delivery, or inventory issues and resolve them in a timely manner. General Ensure compliance with the company's Equal Opportunity Policy and maintain neutral working environment; Any other duties as may reasonably be required Essential Criteria Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field (or equivalent experience). Minimum 5+ years of experience in warehouse and logistics operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proven leadership and team management experience. Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software. Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is an advantage.
