Operations Manager - Main Contractor

Decarbonisation & Retrofit Projects - Social Housing

Up to £75,000 + Package + Bonus scheme

My client are an established construction contractor who are currently recruiting for an Operations Manager to run one of their branches. This is a new division and you will be managing £4-7m per annum of decarbonisation/retrofit projects.

The Role;

Within this role, you will work along side a commercial manager ensuring P&L, budgets and deadlines are met. You would be responsible for ensuring the level of service and quality is to the highest standard as well as cost control, creating CPP & programming of works and budgeting. Implement strong H&S Your direct team will include management, supervisors, operatives & office staff. You will report directly in to the divisional director who will support you in making the contract a success.

The Candidate;

The ideal candidate will have extensive building knowledge and experience managing the delivery of decarbonisation and retrofit projects. The understanding of processes, legislations, experience managing multiple site teams, strategically planning projects and an ability to problem solve in complex situations. A good knowledge of up to date legislations and strong organisational skills is also desired.

Desired Skillset/Experience;






      • Strictly experience in retro fit, EWI/IWI/CWI, ASHPs, Solar Panels, Loft Insulation, Roofing, Heat pumps, ground pumps
      • IT skills are essential and you must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook and Word
      • Full UK Driving Licence
      • Building or refurbishment related qualification of demonstrable experience. Health and Safety qualification required such as IOSH, NEBOSH, SMSTS etc
      • Level 3 Leadership & Management Qualification or equivalent or willingness to work towards
      • Previous experience of working within the social housing sector
      • Experience of working to schedules of rate and knowledge of the NHF Schedule of Rates
      • Experience of managing teams of operatives
      • Valid CSCS card (preferrable)
      • The ideal candidate will ideally have a minimum of 10 years’ experience within the construction industry
      • Be technically minded.
