We have a great opportunity for an Operations Manager with a particular focus on our Mixed Tenure projects, to join our team within Vistry North East, at our office in Newcastle upon Tyne with travel to sites across the region. As our Mixed Tenure Operations Manager, you will take full responsibility for overseeing the Contract Managers & Production teams production functions on contracts allocated by the Operations Director from Pre-Commencement through to issue of Maintenance Certificate and to maintain and maximise quality of service and profitability.

HND / HNC / Degree in Construction
CSCS 'Black' Manager Card
SMSTS You must have good working knowledge and experience of managing housing contracts in Spec Housing Building, mixed tenure and also 100% social format, together with knowledge of traditional and timber frame construction methods
You will possess excellent management and communication skills with the ability to proactively manage Production teams on several live construction sites at any one time, including direct labour and subcontractor resource and the ability to deliver quality construction projects within budget and programme timescales in a safe environment
A degree/HNC/HND in construction and ideally be professionally qualified or working towards a membership of a Professional body
A history of winning NHBC Awards e.g. 'Pride In The Job' / 'Seal of Excellence'
Positive attitude towards teamwork, both within the Operations Team as well as inter-departmental
CIOB Member (desirable)

More about the Operations Manager role...
Develop, support and encourage Health & Safety best practice whilst ensuring compliance to Group H&S Policy & regulations.
The role will include taking full responsibility for ensuring all production functions on contracts from Pre-Commencement through to issue of maintenance certificate are completed.
You will be required to report physical and financial progress, on a monthly basis to our board of directors.
Plan, co-ordinate, maintain and develop Management staff and operative levels to effectively undertake current and prospective workloads.
Provide production input to enhance tender opportunities and develop effective lines of communication with the Pre-commencement Department to ensure continuing feedback on market intelligence, technical developments, build-ability issues and specific market opportunities.
Visit sites on a regular basis, carrying out comprehensive site audits to ensure high standards of management controls are maintained.
Clearly maintain and enforce HS&S standards as required by statute and in accordance with the Company's HS&S Policies.
Control information/drawing registers in conjunction with the Technical department ensuring site and all Subcontractors are issued with relevant information in a timely manner.
Review SSER reports, quality management i.e. NHBC RI's, and programme implications for all sites
Convene and chair team meetings and ensure an appropriate record of action points are recorded, distributed and monitored to a conclusion.
Ensure project maintain statutory and Vistry HS&S standards.
Ensure projects are compliant with relevant building regulation, planning conditions & Warranty provider standards.
Ensure compliance with Vistry BMS.
Ensure the whole Project team from Pre-con, Design, Procurement, Commercial, Production are fulfilling their duties to ensure projects achieve Programme, Quality, Safety & Commercial goals.
Promote the strategic requirement for being a 5* NHBC builder.
