P6 Planner

Abatec are currently recruiting for a Planner to join our client, a Civil Engineering Contractor, who have recently secured works on AMP8 of the South West Water Framework.

Working closely with the site, commercial & engineering team, this is an exciting opportunity to join a reputable business and help lead the delivery of a variety of civils and building, clean water projects across the South West Water framework, located across Devon & Cornwall. 

As a Planner, you will work closely with the Project Manager, delivering the cornerstone of the project, while developing the roadmap to bring the project in on time.

As a Planner you will:

• Collaboratively develop and maintain robust detailed project plans for the Delivery Team


• Draw up construction programmes 


• Treat Health and Safety and environmental matters as primary drivers of approach 


• Assimilate information and summarise in a manner that can be used to communicate the work scope to others 


• Define methods and establishing outputs, in consultation with the estimator and other team members, including the supply chain in appropriate circumstances 


• Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect cost items 


• Contribute the required written submission material 


• Attend the handover meetings to contribute a clear view of the workscope and the intentions for delivering it by reference to prepared material and accept further defined tasks 

Our client is looking for a Senior Planner with:

• Previous Civil Engineering experience within a similar role


• Experience using various Planning Software packages, including P6, ASTA Powerproject and Microsoft Project


• Good knowledge of preparing and monitoring plans


• Excellent Microsoft office skills including Word & Excel

Salary & benefits:

• £55,000 – £65,000 per annum DOE
