Panel Technician (Qualified)


Panel Technician Salary Range - £37,000 - £40,000 + Potential weekly bonus


Job Type - Permanent


Orion is partnered with a well-established Automotive business located in Shrewsbury, which is recruiting for an experienced and proactive Panel Technician.


 


The Panel Technician’s main role will be to Repair or replace necessary bodywork panels of damaged vehicles according to the instructions received or details on the job card. This may include chassis and framework.


Role & Responsibilities of the Panel Technician:



  • Dismantle and repair damaged vehicles by either repairing damaged panels or by replacing those beyond repair. All equipment used, including jigs, fixtures and welding equipment, will be operated as per the instructions, level of qualification and to the prescribed safety standards.

  • Adhere to the manufacturer’s literature and modification bulletins as appropriate to the repair and replacement of chassis and panel work. Where appropriate attend training courses to enable you to be updated on new techniques and produce development.

  • Handle all vehicles with due care and attention ensuring that customer care/satisfaction is always maintained, keeping the Company’s tools and equipment safe and in a clean, workable condition.

  • To be aware of and adhere to all the Housekeeping and Health and Safety regulations and policies applicable to your position and working environment.


 


Requirements for the Panel Technician:



  • 3+ Years Panel Experience in the Automotive Industry.

  • 1+ Years experience working with paint & panels.

  • NVQ qualification - Ideally Level 3 in Vehicle Damage Assessor OR Vehicle Damage Paint Assessor OR Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance, Paint and Repair OR Level 3 in MET OR Level 3 in Vehicle Damage Panels/Paint

  • ATA qualification - ATA Accreditation in Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) However, any ATA Accreditation would be OK – Proven knowledge and experience of doing role

  • Can work efficiently without supervision.


Experience in the Rail or Automotive industry

  • Competitive salary agreed on interview £37,000 - £40,000

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in the role is preferred.

  • Hours are 8am – 5pm, Monday – Friday
