Company details and job overview:

Kenton Black Finance are currently recruiting on behalf of a business that is based in the Burton in Kendal area. This company has been operating for over 20 years and has a turnover in excess of 55 million pounds. They are now recruiting for an Accounts Assistant on a part-time and permanent basis. You will work 30 hours per week from Monday to Friday. There is the option to work 3 or 4 days per week. The salary advertised is the full time equivalent, so please take this into account when applying for the job.

Your new role as the Accounts Assistant:

• Assisting the Financial Controller with accounting duties
• Deal with telephone queries from customers, suppliers and other third parties as required
• Processing all invoices/credit notes and statements
• Resolve any sales related queries identified by other staff such as raising credit notes
• Reconciliation and processing of weekly expenses BACs payment
• Posting of accounting journals into our accounting package Sun Systems
• Allocate receipts on Sage to sales invoices
• Matching, batching and inputting purchase invoices
• Update, monitor and reconcile site fee income spreadsheets and nominal accounts
• Ensure that customer’s balances reconcile to Sage
• Raising sales invoices, ensuring VAT is applied correctly
• Ensure suspense account is cleared monthly
• Ensure jobs are completed within required timescales or if it cannot be achieved then ensure that is communicated as soon as possible

Experience & Skills required to apply:

• Effective communication skills
• Good literacy skills, with excellent organisation skills
• Good IT skills including proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook etc.
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to manage own workload
