Based at the Didcot site, you will job-share this exciting Financial Accounting role with the current incumbent who is looking to step back from full to part-time. There are 25 hours per-week on offer which can be worked throughout the working week to suit you (in agreement with the employer) - if you'd like to work 5 shorter days, 3 long days, or an alternative mix, this allows you the flexibility to do so.

Working as a key part of the subsidiary UK Finance function, you will link directly into the Group overseas HQ, responsible for all financial accounting and management accounting and reporting related to the UK entity itself.

Your role will include a diverse mix of financial and management accounting including:


  • Short term budgeting and mid-term strategic planning processes
  • Monthly rolling forecasting process across P&L, Balance sheet and Cash flow
  • Flash and Actual reporting of actual results on a monthly basis for management and financial accounting purposes
  • Fixed asset accounting and reporting of all capital expenditure also including accounting for IFRS 16 leased assets
  • Tax accounting and monthly reporting across direct and indirect taxes
  • Nominal ledger maintenance and accounting in line with the Group policies
  • Administration of expenses and invoicing to ensure accurate intercompany recharging to Group
  • Monitoring travel expenditure and administration of staff expense claim reimbursement
  • Ensuring that Financial processes and controls operate effectively and in line with Internal Audit rules, Group Compliance rules and the Group Operating Procedures
  • Involvement in statutory audit enquiries
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual statutory financial statements
  • Collaborate with and advise local and Group managers and peers in financial aspects of business projects


About you

You will be a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with a strong all-round accounting background suitable to the duties listed above including statutory financial statements, tax and budgeting and forecasting activities. 
You'll be a competent user of MS Office suite including Excel and competent utilising finance systems (SAP is ideal but not essential). Prior experience of working in/with a manufacturing environment would be advantageous however is not essential. 
You will have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data effectively and communicate findings accordingly, whilst developing relationships across all levels of the organisation. A strong attention to detail with a flexible approach to work are also key for this role, working with ever-changing demands/deadlines.
