We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join our team and inspire students in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics at GCSE level. In this part-time role, you'll be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, monitoring student progress, and creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. The position offers flexibility, making it an ideal opportunity for those seeking a work-life balance in a welcoming school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver lesson plans in line with the school curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Create engaging short- and long-term teaching plans to challenge and inspire students.
  • Prepare and organize resources to meet the diverse needs, backgrounds, and interests of students.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to enhance student learning.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and development within the department.
  • Take part in professional development to stay updated on new teaching techniques.
  • Use school assessment strategies to track student progress and adjust teaching as needed.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students, encouraging self-reflection and improving learning outcomes.
  • Regularly assess and mark students’ work in line with school policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of student achievements to inform lesson planning.
  • Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, confidence, and high standards of behavior.
  • Employ interactive and collaborative teaching methods to encourage independent, critical thinking.
  • Differentiate instruction to support students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
  • Plan and carry out engaging science experiments to enhance practical learning.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Ideally, QTS or QTLS; however, candidates with other relevant teaching qualifications will be considered.
  • Previous experience teaching Science is preferred.
  • Proactive and self-motivated with a passion for teaching.
