Job Title:            Pastoral Assistant

Salary:                 Up to £26,000.00 per annum

Location:           New Barn School, Newbury, Berkshire

Hours:                  40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Contract:           Permanent, Term Time Only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Pastoral Assistant to join our close-knit team at New Barn School, part of Acorn Education

Job Purpose: 

*        To manage pupils’ behaviour, delivering high quality care and support for emotionally vulnerable students

*        To work in close collaboration with the Pastoral managers and behaviour and welfare lead - precise inclusion to maintain a consistent approach and service delivery to the young people.

*        To practice with a high degree of competence, with the aim of reducing barriers to education and independent social interaction, leading to all pupils achieving their potential.

*        To co-ordinate, all services in school to provide integrated provision for pupils.

*        To work with specific Pupils and develop their resilience and skills within lessons and around the site to improve their engagement in their own learning.

About The School

New Barn School offers a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum to boys and girls, aged 6 – 19 years who have Social, Emotional and Mental Health complexities.

New Barn School takes full advantage of its beautiful settings and fosters a love for using the outdoor curriculum including forest school, farm experiences and horse riding. The School is within a commutable distance of Swindon, Oxford, Andover, Basingstoke and Reading and other surrounding towns and villages.
