Our client, a leading global law firm, is looking to hire a Patent Litigation Senior Associate to join their Intellectual Property and Technology group in their London office. This role offers a unique chance to work on high-quality, multi-jurisdictional patent and trade secret disputes, while also engaging in advisory and transactional work. Role and Responsibilities: As a Patent Litigation Senior Associate, you will work closely with the partners on a diverse range of innovation-related cases. Your primary focus will be on patent and trade secret disputes, including UK litigation and ADR, alongside related advisory tasks such as FTO analysis and patentability advice. You will also engage in non-contentious advisory work, patent and trade secret transactions, and corporate support. Key Responsibilities: Handle patent and trade secret disputes, including UK litigation and ADR, with a global aspect. Conduct advisory work including FTO analysis, patentability, and trade secrets advice. Participate in patent and trade secrets non-contentious advisory, such as IP audits and advising on policies, procedures, and contractual terms to maximise returns on R&D investment and minimise patent risk. Engage in patent and trade secret transactions: drafting and negotiating assignments, licences, R&D agreements, and JVs. Provide patent and trade secret-related corporate support such as due diligence, SPA contractual terms, IP aspects of employment agreements, patent assignments, and patent licensing. Supervise and train more junior team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment. Desirable Skills and Experience: The ideal candidate will be UK qualified and between 4-8PQE. The ideal candidate will possess: Experience in multi-jurisdictional patent litigation. Strong expertise in the Technology and/or Life Sciences sectors, ideally gained from working in a global setting. Preferably, experience in the Industrials, Energy & Natural Resources, and CGFR sectors. Experience in patents and trade secret-related non-contentious work. The capability to recognise and seize opportunities for the firm, including repeat business. A proactive approach to building and developing a network of internal and external contacts. Adherence to professional standards and all relevant regulatory obligations.
