Payments Assistant within the busy Finance Team
Duration of the contract: 3 months initially but this could be extended
Umbrella Rate - �16.58 - �17.22ph
37 hours per week - Monday - Friday
Hybrid. Working at least two-three days in the office
Office based at the Wellman Building, Oldbury
Job Summary:
- To support the payments relating to the provision of accommodation for looked after children, Youth Offending Service, Leaving Care, Supported Lodgings and training flats worth over �3M per month.
- To ensure the accuracy and consistency of records relating to the payments made and support the production of ongoing financial projections.
- Assist in resolving invoice queries to avoid overpayment and recover funds when appropriate.
- To support the wider payments and finance team as required.
- To act as a contact point for external providers and social workers in relation to payments
Personnel Specification:
- 2 years working in a busy office environment
- NVQ level 2 in business administration or equivalent
- Use of IT systems and office software
- A understanding of payment processes include records management, maintaining an audit trail, reconciliation
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of different accommodation types for looked after children
- Understand the practical implications of contracts i.e. applicability of notice periods
- Self-motivated
- Excellent attention to detail and accurate work
- Proven ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work under pressure using own initiative or as part of a team
- Capable of working with all types of people
- Experience of prioritising and organising own workload
- Effective communication skills
