Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Administrator to join their payroll team.�This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of payroll and supporting the Payroll and Accounts team. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and demonstrate a high level of accuracy.�



Key Responsibilities:




  • Process weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Maintain and update employee records, including salaries, deductions, and benefits.

  • Respond to payroll-related enquiries from internal and external contacts

  • Monitor and process invoices, expense claims, and bank transactions.

  • Work efficiently across multiple systems to process and manage payroll data.

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of payroll and accounting systems.

  • Ensure confidentiality and security of all payroll and financial data.

  • Reconciliation of payments vs. invoices

  • Ability to perform calculations as and when required/ do test payslips with supporting software

  • Provide administrative services for pensions

  • Process leavers, absence, statutory leave and pay

  • Process and reconcile all fixed pay instructions e.g., basic salary changes, pay uplifts etc

  • Provide administrative support, including, but not limited to the monitoring and management of relevant inboxes



Skills and Qualifications:�




  • Proven experience in payroll administration and/or accounts assistance.

  • Strong knowledge of payroll software and accounting systems.

  • Familiarity with both payroll statutory and legislative regulations and tax codes (e.g. PAYE, CIS, Umbrella).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software.

  • Excellent numerical and data entry skills.

  • Ability to work across multiple systems efficiently and accurately.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritise and take initiative to work to deadlines.

  • Able to think clearly using logic and reasoning



Preferred Qualifications/Experience:�




  • Experience in a payroll company or recruitment agency is desirable.

  • Experience with Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) payroll is desirable.

  • Familiarity with payroll in the recruitment industry.



Monday to Friday: 9 - 17.30pm� 100% office based - this is not a hybrid job
