REQUIREMENTS

* Accuracy in calculation of pay

* Strong but welcoming interpersonal skills dealing with and building relationships with both employees and internal functions

* Tenacious approach in resolving pending issues

* Foresight to understand and resolve future issues

* Ability to work under pressure

* Results driven encompassing organisation skills and the ability to prioritise workload to ensure all deadlines are achieved

* Logical and methodical approach to problem solving

* Presentation and analytical skills in the production of key statistics

* Build detailed knowledge and understanding of time and attendance and payroll systems

* Ability to plan and fully understand workload on a short, medium and longer term basis, pro-actively manage critical path timings for payrolls

* Confidentiality is also key to success in this role

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Processing monthly payroll from start to finish

* Checking the updates made in the system

* Processing additional payments

* Ensure that all relevant information relating to tax codes, NI contributions, student loans, salary sacrifice, other deductions, etc, is accurately recorded/input

* Calculate and process salary adjustments, variable pay items, and other payroll-related transactions

* Check time and attendance reports making necessary adjustments to overtime import into the payroll system

* Processing sick and statutory payments

* Deal with pay queries and arrange advances as necessary

* Month end and adhoc reporting

* Auto enrolment processing

* Processing of payments to third parties

* Ensure all company and government policies and procedures are adhered to

* Benefit reporting and handling queries

* Assisting payroll manager where needed

Person specification - Who you need to be

- Organised and calm under pressure
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and never miss them
- Great attention to detail
- Excellent communicator (written and verbal) at all times
- Excellent project management skills
- Strategic and innovative thinker
- Travel may be required therefore current, driving licence an advantage
- Must have Finance / HR or Payroll experience
- Computer literate – MS Outlook, Intermediate Excel, Word, with strong IT skills and an ability to learn new systems.
- Have good problem solving skills
- You will have the ability to respond positively to changing workloads and priorities, with a willingness to undertake varied payroll responsibilities
- We are seeking someone with excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, who is self-motivated with a problem-solving approach
- You will have the ability to prioritise tasks, work well under pressure and manage your workload, with a high attention to detais
- Good numeracy skills

Qualifications and Experience:

- At least a years’ relevant payroll experience
- Have a clear understanding of Payroll related legislation, tax, and PAYE procedures
- Computer literate – MS Outlook, Intermediate Excel, Word, with strong IT skills and an ability to learn new systems
- Knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing
- Have good problem-solving skills
- You will have the ability to respond positively to changing workloads and priorities, with a willingness to undertake varied payroll responsibilities.
