We are actively recruiting an experienced Payroll Supervisor to join our UK team on a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave paying £38,000-£45,000 DOE. Role Responsibilities Responsible for supporting, developing, and motivating a team of 3, including a point of escalation for difficult or sensitive matters.
Managing the department day to day workload allocationEnd to end processing of a small portfolio of complex payrolls Contribute to a culture of continuous process improvement Lead service review meetings including collaborating with stakeholders to improve SLA adherence.Review payrolls, manual calculations and alabaster reviews processed by team and provide feedback/training as requiredInvolved in inductions and onboarding of new payroll team members.Proactive in identifying incoming changes to payroll legislation; anticipating and escalating/managing any implications and impact of change.Utilise analytics to review team member performance and lead improvements where required.Skills & ExperienceEssentialPrevious experience managing or mentoring a small team Previous experience training team membersPrevious experience having worked in a fast-paced environment managing multiple payroll frequencies or within an payroll bureau/service provider/shared services environmentPrevious experience of HMRC reconciliations, investigation, and resolutionPrevious experience payrolling benefits in kindIT Literate Strong communication skills, verbal and written Ability to establish good work relationships Enjoys problem solvingAbility to work collaboratively with colleagues and clientsGreat attention to detailHighly organized and able to work under pressure and to deadlinesEmbraces change A desire to continually learnA respect for confidentialityStrong time management A curious mindAble to deliver a great customer service experience.Strong working knowledge of Pension Auto enrolment legislation.Able to manually calculate all statutory deductions such as Income Tax, National Insurance, Student/Postgraduate Loans, Court Orders etc.Strong understanding of RTIDesirable but not essentialComfortable with Microsoft Excel, particularly Pivot tables, V & H Lookups, IF formulas, macrosPrevious experience of building and/or maintaining payroll journal reportsKnowledge of the production payroll industry desirablePayroll qualification Benefits PackageSalary range from £38K to £45K per annum DOE25 Days Holiday plus Bank HolidaysChristmas shut-down (on top of 25 days holiday)Remote working within the UK Part time hours and flexible working accommodated Private Medical InsuranceCash plan Team social events usually held in Liverpool / Birmingham / London every 6 months Life assurance – 4x annual salary Income protection schemeEmployee assistance programEnhanced Parental PayFinancial wellbeing clinicsThe Team Our payroll team currently operate as an internal payroll bureau to our Group of companies within the TV, Film and Media Industry and we are extremely passionate about our people.
