PCB Design Engineer

Our client, a well-established consultancy in the engineering sector, is looking for a highly skilled Senior PCB Design Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to innovative projects, ensuring high-quality standards and delivering precise results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generating and understanding schematic design and its requirements
• Managing the PCB CAD system, including creation/modification of component symbols and PCB footprints
• Producing full sets of documentation for fabrication and assembly of PCB designs
• Ensuring deliverables meet agreed timescales, specifications, and quality standards in accordance with ISO9001 procedures
• Conducting internal and external customer design reviews and presenting findings
• Maintaining high professional standards and providing robust expertise in PCB design

Job Requirements:

• Proficient in the PCB design of RF, digital, analogue, and power PCBs
• Advanced knowledge of constraints and the use of the constraint manager
• Experienced in power supply, analogue, digital, and mixed signal circuit design
• Expertise in HDI technologies including micro vias, stacked via, via-in-pad, and back drill
• Strong portfolio of successfully completed PCB design projects
• High skill level using PCB design tools, especially Altium for schematic capture and PCB layout
• Familiarity with Siemens PADS software for legacy designs is advantageous
• Good working knowledge of surface mount technology, DFA, DFM techniques, IPC standards, and EMI/EMC requirements
• HNC/HND or degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering with relevant industry experience
• Experience in product design & development, working closely with mechanical design teams
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, confidently, and under pressure
