Our Role
Forming an integral part of the People Partnership Team, this role will be responsible for providing generalist HR support and advice in all aspects of people management to The White Company Stores and business partners. The role will be responsible for building strong business relationships and driving ‘People Partnership’ across Retail, partnering with Area Managers in order to influence better people focussed business decisions. Whilst the role will primarily be focused on supporting our Retail stores, there will also be emphasis placed on developing a holistic business view and so there will also be advisory duties in supporting retail and Head Office, and Contact Centre colleagues from time to time.

The role will be supporting the London, South East, International & Outlet stores,
There will be regular travel to these locations required,
This role can be based in our Head Offices in either London or Northampton.
What you'll be doing
People Partnership
People Partner for Area Managers and Store Management, coaching and advising stakeholders through people and operational decisions, taking into account strategic initiatives and potential risk to the business
Coach and train business partners to ensure they are equipped to manage their teams in the best possible way and in line with TWC values and culture. Consider and focus on implications beyond the immediate task, thinking globally and cross-functionally
Deputise for the People Partnership Manager when required
Build sustainable and credible business relationships with key stakeholders across the Retail estate
Drive own activity by demonstrating initiative and own key projects/deliverables within the team
Provide a swift and responsive HR service to managers and employees on a wide range of queries
Coach more junior team members in the team, supervising and developing them within their roles and responsibilities
Build strong relationships across the People Team to ensure advice given is consistent across the team
Drive the department and Retail strategies, owning project streams in partnership with stakeholders
Present relevant and timely updates to the People Partnership Manager and to your key business partners
Understand our brand and interpret it to run through every piece of people management material (including policies and procedures, internal messaging - ensuring they are relevant and appropriate)
Create and maintain a partnership with the L&D, Talent Acquisition, Comms & Engagement and Pay & Reward teams to ensure that all people centric initiatives are joined up and considered
Facilitate and engage in biannual Talent processes, driving talent actions across the team and area
Employee Relations
Work with Store Managers and Area Managers in providing a solutions focussed service in dealing with all employee relations issues such as disciplinary and grievance procedures, and proactively identify opportunities to address recurring issues at organisation level
Support Retail in all aspects of Talent management, including managing underperformance as well as identifying high performance
Staying abreast of any changes to employment law, anticipating impact of change on the business, looking to set in place processes which will help bed down the change. Ensure our policies, procedures and usual practice remain legally compliant
Ensuring that our policies and procedures are interpreted fairly, reasonably and consistently by managers across all teams – and are fully aligned to the policies and procedures
Supporting and advising within ER investigations through taking notes, advising on process and formally confirming outcomes
Supporting all flexible working applications
Insight
Support the People Partnership Manager in the creation of people analytics that tell a story and are aligned to the people strategy
Based on the analytics, facilitate meaningful and impactful conversations with business partners to guide better business and people focused decisions
To use relevant metrics and data to develop insight and support and influence People Team strategy and initiatives, and to influence management behaviour across the business
Ensure all department trackers and reporting mechanisms are kept up to date
Reward
Work with business partners to guide and advise on all remuneration committee (Remcom) submissions, supporting on completion of relevant paperwork and advice
Work with Pay and Reward team to support annual reward processes such as pay review and bonus payments
Support with salary benchmarking to ensure TWC salaries are in line with reward strategy and ideal market positioning
Organisation Design
Supporting any proposed structural changes – working with the manager to build the proposal, working through the plan and supporting delivery of the change
Support senior colleagues in organisational design projects whilst advising business partners on organisational design queries
Support business partners with continuously evaluating ways of working across the business to ensure they are optimising the output of their team.
