Every day our teams help people in businesses and communities to do what is right and achieve their goals.The Business Transformation and People Consulting team supports business leaders to respond to an ever-changing environment by helping clients shape and align their transformation and/or people strategy, ensuring organisation goals are clearly linked to the strategy of the organisation, and how these translate into clear objectives for people across the business. We work with leaders on the design and delivery of operating models and structures to support their vision and strategy, ensuring we are excellent change managers making transformation and change sustainable. We also know that an organisation’s culture, leadership and employee value proposition is integral to people engagement, creating a competitive advantage and managing through change.The Business Transformation and People Advisory team is a vital part of Grant Thornton’s Business Consulting practice, a key strategic growth enabler for the firm. A Manager in Business Transformation and People Consulting will work as part of a project team, sometimes leading one or more team members and involving other service lines. A Manager will be responsible for leading smaller projects with minimal oversight from an Associate Director/Director/Partner and will interface directly with client management, senior stakeholders and other Grant Thornton advisors, whilst taking responsibility for risk management, budgets and billing. The manager will also be expected to contribute towards business development activities with the support from the rest of the team and add value through development of existing and new services to support our clients.We’re happy to talk flexible working and consider reduced hours and job shares, we’ll support you to balance your work and life.A look into the role As a Manager, People Consulting & Business Transformation within our team practice, you will:Clients, client service and marketsSupports and inputs into the development and delivery of a clear go-to market plan across all our regions, leveraging our internal resource and external networkSupports the team on key accounts, including the management and day-to-day activities of theseIs a key support on writing and developing proposals for targets and clients, including being essential support on pitching or as part of a wider pitch team. Will look for innovative ways to deliver the proposals and pitches to set Grant Thornton apart from the competitionInteracts confidently with clients, with impact and gravitasUnderstands the key issues within a business using previous experiences across functional and sector basesFlexibility to be able to travel to client’s premises and respond to client requests at short noticeCommunicates clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writingLeads report drafting for smaller projects, or drafting of specific sections for larger projects, with minimal oversight, ensuring accuracy for all figures presentedAbility to work autonomously on specific pieces of work and smaller projects (under the supervision of a people manager)Proactively builds own network both internal and external to the Firm to generate leadsActively seeks to support the preparation of sales proposals and pitches, including researchLeads initiatives to raise the awareness of Business Transformation and People Advisory within the FirmSupports the development of Business Transformation and People Consulting product collateral, including tools and templates etcResponsibility for leading take on procedures, including drafting letters of engagement for Partner or director approvalAdopts a proactive, 'sleeves rolled up' attitudeSupports the provision of 'on the job' training to more junior team members including regular feedbackKnowing you’re right for us Joining us as a Manager, People Consulting & Business Transformation, the minimum criteria you’ll need isA clear understanding of people policies, processes and practices as well as change levers for culture and engagementStrong commercial mindsetExperience of one or more of the following: Operating Model Design and Implementation, Organisational Design and development; HR function transformation; business Transformation, change management, culture change  Good relationship management with internal colleagues and external clients, building trust quickly and adaptable to changeStrong at report writing, supporting the development of business cases, bid leading, supporting tenders and negotiatingGood knowledge, understanding and technical expertise within HR, wider people and talentIt would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.Higher education level or aboveCIPD qualified or similar level of experienceProgramme Management qualification /accreditationRelated further education qualification such as MA Human Resource Management or MSc.
