Narrative Entertainment is the largest independent TV broadcaster in the UK with a portfolio spanning Movies, Entertainment and Children’s TV. The portfolio includes linear broadcast channels (GREAT! and Pop Networks), AVOD apps and a range of FAST (Free Ad Supported TV) on major platforms.
WHAT THE ROLE IS ALL ABOUT
An exciting position has opened in the Strategy & Insights team at Narrative Entertainment for a Performance Analyst. The Performance Analyst will play a key role in delivering regular reporting and ad hoc insight across our portfolio of linear and digital propositions, in the UK and beyond. The ideal candidate will be able to spot trends in our performance and provide audience insight and marketplace context to optimise performance.
As an expanding company the Performance Analyst will rapidly develop and hone their skills in research and analysis. It is a key role in supporting internal teams in disseminating insight across the company to make key business decisions.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Performance Tracking: Responsible for the tracking and reporting of our digital channels, including FAST (Free ad supported streaming TV) and VOD Apps, as well as linear broadcast channels.
Reporting: Create and share regular reports in various forms (inc. dashboards, slides and emails) in an easy-to-read and understand format to enable a culture of self-service analytics across the business. Be able to communicate key takeaways and provide actionable insights for relevant stakeholders.
KPIs and Trends: Develop an understanding of different KPIs and the relationships and drivers between metrics (e.g. audience, impressions, revenue and time spent). Be able to query data, identify trends and understand how it impacts business performance. Uncover insights to enhance understanding of our combined linear and digital performance.
Data Hygiene: Build and maintain reporting models and dashboards, making continuous improvements and introduce efficiencies as business needs change. Lead on data hygiene across broadcast and digital, assessing data quality, ensuring consistency in measurement definitions and investigating issues in data reporting.
Competitor & Market Intel: Keep up to date with market developments, tracking of competitors and learnings from other broadcasters and streaming services globally. Share key news stories and market insights with wider company.
Ad Hoc Analysis: Evaluate performance of content, programming, commercial initiatives, marketing activity and product tests with the Sr Research Manager and Head of Strategy. Provide data to support commercial and content decisions. Contribute to annual planning cycles, providing key audience insights to determine short- and long-term plans.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Bachelor’s degree in a numerate/business discipline or at least 2 years' experience in a data, research or insights role.
Highly numerate with an analytical approach, enjoys working with large volumes of data.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mentality. Able to spot trends in large datasets and demonstrate critical thinking.
Strong presentation and written skills, able to present and translate data in a user-friendly way.
A driven, motivated and confident attitude with the ability to use your own initiative as well as work as part of a team.
Keen learner looking to develop their understanding of the different factors impacting commercial performance of a broadcaster and streaming services.
Be highly organised, adept at multi-tasking and flexible with daily or ad-hoc duties.
A friendly and adaptable approach to work. Ability to work with different teams and adapt to business needs.
Ability to work under time pressure whilst maintaining high standards.
Advanced Excel skills and experience of creating reports and disseminating data for various stakeholders.
Familiarity with digital analytics tools such as Google Analytics or similar a plus.
An interest and understanding of the Media & Entertainment industry.
Knowledge of BARB and TechEdge a plus.
