Job Title: Children's Permanence Social Worker
Location: Oldham Council
Salary: £36,648 - £40,221 per annum + £2,000 retention payment
Contract: Permanent

Description:
Oldham Council is looking for passionate and committed Social Workers to join our Permanence Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in securing stable, loving, and long-term homes for children and young people.
As a Permanence Social Worker, you will work to ensure that children in care receive high-quality support and achieve the best possible outcomes. You'll be part of a supportive and enabling workplace with excellent career progression opportunities.
Responsibilities:
    \n
  • Undertake assessments and care planning for children and young people in care.
  • \n
  • Develop and implement permanence plans that support stability and long-term outcomes.
  • \n
  • Work closely with foster carers, adopters, and connected carers to ensure the best placement matches.
  • \n
  • Advocate for children and young people, ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making.
  • \n
  • Prepare and present reports for reviews, courts, and multi-agency meetings.
  • \n
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and support.
  • \n
Requirements:
    \n
  • \nQualifications: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.
  • \n
  • \nExperience: At least two years' post-qualification experience, ideally within safeguarding, child protection, or permanence.
  • \n
  • \nSkills: Strong assessment, planning, and decision-making skills.
  • \n
  • \nKnowledge: Understanding of child development, attachment theory, and permanency planning.
  • \n
  • \nOther Requirements: Ability to travel across Oldham.
  • \n
