Personal Assistant/Support Worker

I am a young woman living with Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy and I'm looking for three female PA's who can drive to support me in my administration role in my healthcare admin role as well as provide virtual support through MS Teams. This position is funded through Access to Work funding . This will be on a part time basis alongside two other bank PA's who will be on zero hours basis required to provide cover in the case of sick leave or annual leave etc.

The working day will vary as if I am working from home, support would be required between the hours of 09:00 - 17:00 Monday to Friday. If however I am required to work from the office, depending on the location (this could be in Birmingham, Leicester or Derby). The frequency of travelling for work purposes is to be confirmed as the majority of my role is home based),support would be required approximately between the hours of 07:30 to 18:00.

The role will involve note taking, driving, explaining information or tasks, advocating for me if I am struggling to communicate, being my third party contact for my Access to Work grant, keeping me motivated and helping me get around in the workplace by pushing me in my wheelchair.

The three successful candidates would require the following skills and experience:

· Possess either personal or professional experience of supporting people with disabilities who have full mental capacity.

· A positive and professional manner to work including a common-sense approach to all tasks.

· Able to stay calm in difficult situations (one of my disabilities is epilepsy and whilst my seizures are under control there is always the risk of me having them at any time).

· At least 2 years administration experience with the ability to take notes in meetings.

· Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office (especially MS teams).

· Access to a laptop with MS Office installed.

· Friendly and patient personality.

· Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Access to a vehicle which is big enough to fit a lightweight manual folding wheelchair along with a full UK driving license.

· DBS checked.
