About the Job
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference in somebody elses life. Our client is confident in his ability and lives in his family home with the support of like-minded individuals to assist him with:

Transportation, driving the client to and from the events and staying with them throughout.

About our Client
The client is a full-time wheelchair user who has cerebral palsy. His needs during the daytime are being met, however there are sometimes activities/group sessions in the evening that his care package does not currently cover.
We are looking for someone who can provide additional support for an evening, for approximately 9-10 hours per week, over the course of 2-3 evenings.

Some of the events take place on a regularly scheduled time and day where help would always be required at the same time. Others may be on a changing schedule, or events that are planned spontaneously on an ad hoc basis. It is understood that this will not always be possible, however, flexibility in this regard would be appreciated highly.

The main responsibilities of this role would be providing transportation, driving the client to and from the events and staying with them throughout. The client is largely independent throughout the course of the event, though there may be some additional responsibilities such as providing them with a drink or assisting with other small tasks that may be physically challenging, however, these are infrequent and not likely to be challenging.

Personal care will be limited within this role, the only related task may involve helping the client to access the toilet.
Some of the evening activities may be charity sessions/talks where interactions from the Personal Assistant will be limited. Sometimes they may involve going to events such as watching a show or film which the PA will be welcome to enjoy also.

Any candidate would also have to help the client back into their home after these events have finished, and to assist with getting them a drink or helping to take off their shoes, however, you would not be expected to stay for long after returning home.

Clean Automatic driving license (Essential)
Confident driver as you will be expected to drive the clients van

Applicatio n Process: To apply, please submit a cover letter describing your interests and explaining why you would be a suitable candidate for this unique and rewarding position.
